I have problems with my razer advanced notebooks and the razer chore x chrome.
To understand the issue, you only have to connect a notebook 15 advanced Notebook with 3080RTX with an 4K touch OLED or the older version with RTX 2080RTX with 4K touch OLED to an Razer Core X with an installed AMD 5000 series Graphic card. Then you will see, not my Notebook is broken, the hole system is not compatible. I and my friends have together 5 Notebooks out of the following series. (RZ09-0301 and RZ09-0367). All this Notebooks have the same issues with that. Notebooks from other manufactures don’t have problems with my Core X Chroma and the installed AMD 5900XT Card!!!!!!
Issue description:
- Plug in Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) to the Razer advanced 15 Notebooks RZ09-0301 or RZ09-0367
- The Razer Core X Chroma and following devices there are connected to the Razer Core X Chroma get detected (Network, USB devices, Graphic card without driver as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter). The connected Monitors to the Razer Core X Chroma are dark and until know not found(That’s normal without Graphic card driver)
- Install AMD Adrenalin driver and the connected Monitors and Graphic card sincerely working as they should.
- After them windows need’s a restart. Try Restart the Razer advanced 15 Notebooks RZ09-0301 or RZ09-0367. With or without the connection to the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT)
- Shut down process mostly never will be ending(1 hour waiting).
- After restart the Razer advanced 15 Notebooks RZ09-0301 or RZ09-0367, the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) get shown under Thunderbolt Bolt control center as connected, but no device how connected to the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) will be found anymore.
- The Graphic card will no longer shown in the Device Manager under Windows. Also all connected devices (Network, USB devices, Graphic card) don’t get detected anymore. Also it is not longer possible to connect anything direct to the usb ports of the Razer advanced 15 Notebooks RZ09-0301 or RZ09-0367. The USB Ports are death. The notebook is not usable until I deinstall the AMD Software and drivers.
- After deinstall AMD Software and drives all things like I write in Points 1 and 2. But I can’t use the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) meaningful without install any graphic card driver.
- If I restart PC with out connect the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) the Razer advanced 15 Notebooks RZ09-0301 or RZ09-0367 working fine. After connection the Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) I have the same you can read under point 5a and 5b.
Following solutions, I try to solve the problem until now:
1. Restart with connected Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT)
2. Shout down with connected Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) and restart with out connection. Do Connection after Windows is completely running. Same issues.
3. Restart without connected Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT)
4. Different driver versions from AMD. Last 3 recommended and beta drivers.
5. Try with the configuration and setup (driverversions) on delivery original.
6. Try with updated Win10 (10.04.2021) and all drivers updated with the versions there are available to the date 10.04.2021.
NOTE!!!!!
The Razer Core X Chroma (5900XT) works fine with notebooks from other manufactures. I try 2 HP Omen notebooks and I try also 1 MSI Notebook!!
