Razer Barracuda X wont play audio from multiple sources, no game audio at all

I hooked up the headset correctly and can get audio from YouTube to play just fine however game audio will not play at all and if I connect to a discord channel then it cuts off the YT audio. This is the case whether or not I try to use the 7.1 surround sound app. I attempted to install the firmware update, despite the fixed issues it lists having nothing to do with PC, but I can’t install it because it tells me to hook up the wireless dongle to a “powered USB port”, which I did (multiple different powered USB 3.0, 3.1, and USB-c ports) but it will not let me click “next” on the installer, as though I have not hooked it up correctly. These ports will fast charge my cell phone and the properties show “D0” (maximum power) so IDK what Razer wants me to do differently. I think I contacted support but IDK about that either because after I answered the questions it asked me about what trouble shooting steps I have completed it just took me back to the main support page without letting me explain the issue at all...am I going to get an email? WHO KNOWS. Most likely this is my first and LAST Razer product but I figured I’d reach out to the community since, so far, Razer has let me down at every turn.3

a good mb that I can’t remember right off hand...a good one though, has wi-fi/bt built in. its like a b450 something or something lol idk.

I run my OS off an SSD which the 7.1 surround installed to.
