Razer Basilisk Ultimate sensitive scroll wheel

I’ve has this mouse for about 3-4 years, has been rock solid until about 2-3 weeks ago.  I’m not sure what changed, but the scroll wheel is ultra sensitive.   It feels like if I even breath on it, it scrolls.  I’m also pretty sure I used to be able to push on the scroll wheel to change modes.  Between like a more free wheeling scroll and a clicky scroll.  It almost feels like it stuck in “free wheeling” mode.    

 

I have cleaned out the mouse with compressed air.  Updated firmware to 1.8.0.0, reinstalled Synapse and the drivers but it doesn’t make a difference.

 

Has anyone else seen this and have any suggestions?

We’re leaning toward a hardware fault right here. Does it make any difference when the Razer Synapse software is temporarily disabled? Let me know via PM along with your mouse’s serial number so I can validate it and check for other workarounds that we can attempt.
