Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K: Saving Lighting to Device not possible? Bug or Feature?

Hello, is this a (known) bug or a general limitation:

When saving settings to On-Board-Memory, the ligthing (in my case: just a simple heavily dimmed static color) is not saved, just the key bindings?!? Seriously???

In other words: Is there any way to change this horrible and energy-wasting default lighting effect, when using the Mouse without Synapse 4??

Thx for any clarification!

NB/Background: We are writing a little review and still testing the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K.

  • We found out, that Synapse 4 running leads to (rare) connection and pointer issues.
  • Therefore we tried to save Settings to On-Board-Memory and stop Synapse Software
  • But then the mouse lights up with those bright childish kindergarten lighting effects… 🤪

I have exact same problem with Basilisk V3 Pro I recently bought.

Setting like smart reel or button customization seem to work but lightning is always “spectrum cycling” for all the on board profiles after stopping Razer Synapse app.

Even worse, there is no information that lightning cannot be stored into onboard profiles, not in the Synapse app, and not even on forum, mouse documentation or anywhere else.

This is terrible experience and even worse, it seem that Razer is ignoring people complains for years. That’s a bit sad.

To be fair: I tried with Synapse 3 and Synapse 4 and behavior is the same: some settings are saved and usable without Synapse app but lightning is forever set to “spectrum cycling”.

Fun fact: I can set whatever lightning effect I want with linux razer-open and plolychromatic app and surprisingly that is permanently saved into onboard hybrid profile (first, default one). Of course until I run Synapse app on Windows again, which messes that up again.

Unfortunately razer-open never figured out how to write to other on board memory profiles, so it’s also not possible there but just because it works with default one proves that technically saving lightning configuration to on board profile is possible. It’s just Razer not putting enough effort to make this work.

Tagging support team to confirm or deny my analysis: @Razer.Speedcr0ss, @Razer.ScarletRouge, @Razer.Ten@Razer.Aero, @Razer.sushi.boi, @Razer.Zionzedd

Maybe one of you can either prove me wrong or take the request to allow saving lightning settings to onboard memory to someone who’s capable of making it to work.

Thank you!

Hey @xjason6,

Your honest feedback is much appreciated. Please be advised that you can not store lighting effects on your mouse’s on-board memory, it requires Razer Synapse to be running as you can check from this article. Just send me a PM if you have any other concerns.
