Razer Blade 14 - no "Realtek(R) Audio Codec with THX Spatial Audio"

My Razer Blade 14 2022 is missing the THX spatial audio feature. My sound device only shows up as "Realtek(R) Audio" in Windows 11 device manager, not as "Realtek(R) Audio Codec with THX Spatial Audio". Trying to install the THX Spatial Audio app thorugh Microsoft Store throws an 0x803FB005 error (which afaik is a licensing issue for software provided by the manufacturer of a PC). I tried uninstalling the driver manually and with Display Driver Uninstaller, it always comes back as just "Realtek(R) Audio" and never installs the Realtek extension required for the THX app to be working. A fresh Windows installation over USB didn't help either. I also downloaded the system restore image, but it just copies the files and then gets stuck at "Restoring... 70%".

I've been dealing with the Razer Support team regarding this same issue, via email. At best, it is a terrible customer experience. It is stunning how they don't believe that I restore the device > THX is there. I run windows update >THX is gone. Their last email wanted me to confirm that the THX Spatial Audio for PC app is installed. For what it is worth, it is as I just restored the laptop to factory and the THX app is included in the software in the recovery partition of the laptop... I have the Razer Blade 15” Advanced (2021) | RZ09-0409x Thanks for the driver, @mido_dahhan_xii I'll give it a try... Will the next update kill THX again, though?

@mido_dahhan_xii That driver was not supported by my system, and the install did not complete. I do appreciate the attempt, though.

Hey, @ChrisG2189

Sorry to hear that you’re running into this. You are correct, Razer support was a dead end.

For me, it was fixed by an update that I got through Windows Update. So. The time from when I got the update from Windows Update that ‘broke’ the codec until the time that I got the update from Windows Update that ‘fixed’ the codec was about 7 months, if I recall correctly.

Due to my dead end months-long experience with the “voice of Razer”, I will not be buying another Razer product, ever again.

Best of luck to you!
