Ive had this Razer Blade 15 for over 2 years now. I previously had a problem where the lithium ion battery swelled up and needed replacement, however besides this its been totally fine. Over the past few months however, the performance of the device has spiralled, for no obvious reason (havent dropped it, spilled on it, etc). I can barely play games, the whole system freezes if I use the GPU in any form, it runs EXTREMELY HOT and loud even when just browsing the internet, and just today I tested Synapse and it literally does not sync with the device (keyboard, fans etc). Obviously the main advice I saw online when I started to experience the total system freezes when using the GPU was to update the drivers. I have done this, reinstalled old ones, etc, to no avail. I get the impression, based on the performance in other applications, that the GPU is just not functioning at all. It still runs fast in general day to day operation and even some more intensive design softwares (which is what I bought it for) so I havent really felt the urgent need to change anything until I started to realise this is a serious issue, and the frustration with the freezing has pushed me to move to a Macbook Pro 15 though. Obviously I really want to fix these issues before selling though so I would appreciate any advice/support or maybe anyone whos experienced these issues with this device.

It's sad to hear that the laptop has a performance related-concern. Did you check if your unit has an available BIOS or EC firmware from its support page? Were there any hardware changes applied before the issue? Did you try loading the laptop's operating system to its factory state, which will allow you to have its initial drivers and software version and check if the same behavior happens?
