Razer Blade 15 Advanced 2020 / CPU 100 degrees Celsius, cant even touch chassis. | Razer Insider

Hi,

So I bought a Razer Blade 15 advanced a year ago (32gb, 2tb, i7 10875H, 2070 Super) and the cooling doesn't suffice. My girlfriend bought a 17 Pro (Same specs but non-super GPU), and that one is way cooler.

We both work in 3D rendering/VFX and I honestly kind of regret the decision to go with the 15 inch instead of the 17, since when we work from home instead of our office I always use it and it gets uncomfortably hot.

Temp's show it's the CPU. I know unfortunately it can't be undervolted (although it shouldn't be necessary) so it doesn't feel like there's a lot I can do?

- Tried reinstalling Windows.

- Tried cleaning the fans.

- Tried different drivers (not that that would affect the CPU).

The only setting which kind of works is to set the CPU to LOW in razer Synapse and the fans to HIGH. Then it's a bit over 90 degrees instead of 100.

Should I really spend another 3000,- + euro's again just because it's to hot to work on?

Any help or tips?
Hi there, I'm curious if you have tried to put the laptop on an elevated open air stand when doing high CPU workload tasks (and use and external keyboard if needed). I've found that can help about 10-15 degrees. The processor can handle those high temps, sounds like you have the CPU at 100% for a while. That 2 generation old processor is bit warmer than the newer ones. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. I know this CPU is a bit hotter than the 2021 model. But still, it's weird that you can barely touch the chassis while working on high workloads. Especially when it isn't the case with the obviously bigger 17 inch model.

Think I'll just sell it and get the 17 / 2022 model instead then.
