Razer Blade 15 Advanced usb c thunderbolt to displayport adapter problem | Razer Insider

Hi,

I've just bought a Samsung G7 32inch monitor and have tried to connect it to my RB advanced 2020 RTX 2080 super max q via the usb c thunderbolt port and using a usb c to display port adapter and as backup as well as a direct usb c to displayport cable too. The laptop and nvidia registers the monitor but the g7 shows a no input signal and does not register a connection to it. No image as well as a constant on and off issue.

I have updated the bios, the gpu drivers, windows drivers, installed the drivers off the samsung website, unplugged and replugged everything, reset the monitor, lowered the refresh rate and have read as many forums as i can handle.

If anyone knows a solution I would really appreciate the help!

Thanks

Hi there! Thanks for generating this thread. Are you referring to this model? Please send me the device's serial number via PM so I can check its available updates.
Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply! I've managed to fix the issue by buying a different brand of usb-c to display port adapter and a dp cable from Cable Matters. Everyting is synced and running at 240hz 1440p!! I originally bought the cables from MAXONAR which did not work. Hopefully anybody that sees this in future will not make the same mistake I made...

Thanks for letting me know. And yes, video cable adapters/converter tend to show this behavior if used to a Razer laptop that's why I always advise bringing their laptop before purchasing one. Feel free to send me a PM or visit our self-help options should you have other questions or concerns. I'll be locking this thread as resolved.
