Razer Core X 2080 TI with Blade 15 Worst Performance | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hey guys,

Long time Razer blade and EGPU user here from 2017 till now.

Ok so I have been trying and trying to figure this out and I am just now finally coming to the forums for some help on how I can figure this out.

I own a 2019 Razer Blade Pro advanced with a 2070 MAX Q and Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz 16GB of Ram

I also have 2 27" asus ROG monitors 165 HZ that are running with 2 Display port connections.

I also have a Razer CORE X Mercury edition with a brand new EVGA FTW 2080 TI Connected via Thunderbolt 3 cable.

So those are the specs. Now for the issue. My FPS in any game even games as simple as Valorant or League of legends I get constant FPS spike drops. My FPS Constantly bounces from 70-120 FPS which without the EGPU I was running valorant and such at 150+ FPS No problems at all. I was also able to run warzone without the EGPU without the EGPU warzone doesn't run that amazing at max settings but my PC use to be able to handle it. I can not play any game at all with the EGPU hooked up at 1440P without frame issues even valorant.

With an upgrade as expensive as this EGPU are and the 2080 TI is I was expecting a huge performance increase but I received quite the opposite. It has been a pain in the ass for me the past couple of weeks and I would really like to figure out a fix.

THINGS IVE TRIED:

1. Uninstalling and reinstalling All NVIDIA Drivers

2. Completely Reformatting my Hard drive.

3. Turning off IGPU

4. Closing laptop lid.

5. Overclocking GPU

6. Running the EGPU and laptop only.

7. Running only one monitor instead of 2 external monitors.

8. Power mode to Maximum Performance in NVIDIA Control panel.

Another question I would like answered is:

1. Would replacing the battery in the laptop maybe improve the performance or fix certain issues. ALL IN ALL PLEASE HELP I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE THE MAXIMUM GAMING PERFORMANCE OUT OF MY ALREADY REALLY EXPENSIVE RIG!
When I say 70-120 thats spiking up and down up and down its not consistent which makes it feel like 20 FPS
Dankey
