Razer Core X Chroma Ethernet Disconnecting constantly

Hi, I recently got a Core X Chroma from a friend. The basic eGPU functionality seems good, but the ethernet connectivity is terrible. I have updated the drivers (Thunderbolt and ASIX ethernet). I have tried the unit with my personal Dell XPS 13 and my work-provided Dell Latitude, and behavior is similar. When I plug in the ethernet cable I get a reasonable connection, but it disconnects after a few minutes. If I reset the ethernet adapter using network diagnostics it usually fixes things. Very frustrating. I have seen quite a few reports of this but no real resolution. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks
