Thank you for sharing your issue with us here. My name is Michelle, and I am part of the technical support team. I am delighted to be of your assistance.

To help us figure out the root cause, we need your assistance to follow the steps below to troubleshoot on your side:

  1. Exit Razer Cortex
  2. Find “appsettings.json” file under this directory: %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Razer\Razer Cortex
  3. Right-click the “appsettings.json” file, and select “Edit”.
  4. Delete the three modules "DealsModule",  "ImageAdjustModule", and "SpaceRadarModule".
  5. Save the changes of this file.
  6. Launch Razer Cortex.

Please feel free to provide us with your Razer Cortex logs via pm if this issue persists.

Here are some screenshots for your reference. Please check them.

Thank you.  I did as described above, deleting those entries, but the problem persists.  I then ran the Razer Cortex Logs but could not figure out how to pm the file to you.

I have been having the same problem for about a week or more:

Said problem has persisted after performing a complete uninstall of razercortex, reboot and reinstall.

I deleted the lines in Json file, then start it like Admin and it works. I Don’t know if is permanent but may be a progress

That is great. Our engineering team will resolve this issue in the next version. Before we resolve, some features may not work normally. such as the featured games in P2E will not be detected correctly.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you! Thank you for being patient.

This didn’t work for me.  NOTHING has worked for me.  I have given up.

I’ll launch my Steam games the old fashioned way and keep an eye out for news that Cortex has been unbroken.

I had the same problem for the last week or so. I assume it was a recent windows or razer update.
The initial solve from Michelle worked for me with a caveat:
I first opened Notepad as Admin. Followed the rest of the instructions, but opened the json file from Notepad instead of from the file itself. Deleted the 3 modules and then saved the file and everything works fine now!

Windows 10

Razer Blade 15 (2020 edition)

In my case, after performing the module deletion from the text editor and starting Razer Cortex in Administrator mode, it started working correctly without any fail.

This has been tested on a Razer Book 13.

Hi @tannerellison @Hashand ,

Thank you for your feedback. We will resolve this issue in our next version. As you disabled the three modules, some of the features will not run normally before our next update.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. Truly appreciate your feedback and patience.

Nothing here has helped.  But I have FIXED the problem for me.  I had a un-updated version on a different laptop and I simply copied those files over and now I have Cortex back and working.  (I supposed it'll last as long as I don’t update it.)
