razer deathadder v2 causes boot problems, error B4 | Razer Insider

When I try to turn my PC on with the deathadder v2 plugged in, I either get a black screen or the pre-bios screen but if I press ESC to enter the bios it doesn’t work. I looked online and found that there have been other accounts of this happening specifically with the razer deathadder, so I am not alone. I then unplugged the mouse and started up the computer and it worked just fine and brought me to the OS login as it should. Someone on the internet suggested that the drivers that are integrated in the USB can affect the booting process and confuse the PC into thinking that the drivers on the mouse’s USB can be booted from. This made sense, so I made sure that the boot order in bios looks at my SSD first (which is where my windows is installed). I thought that if I made sure that the bios searches my SSD before anything else would fix the issue, but it did not. I then wanted to see what would happen if I would turn the PC on without the mouse plugged in, and then plug it in once I get into the bios. To my surprise, the moment I plug the mouse in, my keyboard automatically stops working. Then I unplug the mouse, and the keyboard works just fine. I also get an error code “B4” when I plug the mouse in. Apparently, it is an error code related to USB issues and USB devices. Considering I am not the only person experiencing this issue with the razer deathadder v2, I hope your team at Razer can look into this and help us out.

You can try DAv2 firmware updater if you haven’t tried it: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4555

But I’d also download & install the newest BIOS version for your motherboard.
