Razer Kiyo Stopped Working - Unknown USB Device

My Razer Kiyo webcam recently stopped working and showing up as “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)” in device manager.  It just shut off while using it one time and that was it.  If I unplug and plug it back in it seems to be recognized as a Razer Kiyo again but trying to use it says another application is using it then disconnects and shows back up as an unknown USB device.

 

What I have tried with no luck:

Reinstalling the driver.

Updating the firmware.

Using a different computer.

 

I’ve seen some other posts describing a similar issue but no other solutions.  Any suggestions?

Well I guess it is garbage then.  This has been very disappointing and it looks like it’s a common problem with this.  I have had a few Razer products and sure they look cool but they have mediocre performance, come with one of the worst companion apps I’ve used, and only seem built to last passed the feeble 1 year warranty and are then abandoned.

 

Why would I ever buy another Razor product again?

Mine did exactly the same yesterday while streaming. It recognises it when plugged in but as soon as you try and use it. I too get Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

Most defiantly a hardware fault, I won’t be buying another. I know that much.

Same here. I have to Kiyo pro’s which I have been using both for streaming for over half a year at the same time. Now suddenly one will show as not recognized…
