I am
so sick of this. This has been happening for
roughly a year now. I went through a lot of posts and forums regarding this issue as well as most of the troubleshooting tips. I
really wanna solve this! Here's a thorough documentation i've gathered on this problem:
What's happening exactly?
During a discord call at any moment the following things can happen simultaneously:
- Audio cuts out for roughly 3 seconds with an audible pop
- Headset included microphone mutes itself
- RGB lights controlled via Razer Synapse flash off and back on quickly
- If in game, freezes and lagging are often an issue during the audio cut off
- Headset seems to be disconnected while audio is not present since it does not show up as an audio device and dissapears briefly from Razer Synapse if the app is open
I've noticed that this seems to happen more often if someone in the voicechat is yelling or making loud noises example. In other words, this tends to happen if sound reaches a certain decibel. This issue is exclusive to discord. I always keep my drivers and apps updated.
Known fixes:
- Turning off all RGB lighting controlled with Razer Synapse
*Please note that turning off the RGB lighting isn't a vaiable option for me for the following reasons:
- My keyboard (BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed Phantom Edition) becomes blank with no letters on keycaps if RGB illumination is not present, EVER IN DAYLIGHT!
- I spent a small fortune on my RGB equipment and i am not willing to restrain from using it
