Razer Kraken Pro V2 Audio Sounds Muffled

This headset is about a year or two old and I've just started using it again after my last one broke. I quickly noticed that games and applications sound muffled for some reason. It sounds like surround sound but I don't know if that's even able to be turned on. I've tried other headsets and they sound fine. The Kraken Pro V2 isn't recognized by either Synapse 2 or 3 as far as I know. I tried downloading Razer's surround sound software but realized I needed a code. I registered the headset on my Razer ID profile and I have no clue where to find the code from there. I restarted my PC and I've made sure the splitter cable is put in correctly and have tried re-plugging them in. I even took off the splitter cable to see if that made any difference. I don't think it's possible that the headset just sounds like this, everything sounds like I have a bucket on my head. I'm going to try to update the drivers, If I don't reply to the thread soon then assume that didn't work.

The solution was:
1. Go into control panel and click sound.
2. Right click your headphones and select properties.
3. Click the advanced tab and turn off enable audio enhancements.
Hope this helps someone else out because it gave me a lot of trouble.
