Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. No sound when using THX spatial audio as an output

Hi

I'm having issues with my kraken TE where when I try to use the THX spatial audio outputs theres no sound. i hear the beeps from the usb controller and it works fine when using the other outputs like game and chat. But that sucks cause then its stuck in stereo. I have tried reinstalling all my audio drivers and synapse multiple times and nothing has worked. Pls help.

Hi there! Thanks for generating this thread. What workarounds have you done so far to fix the issue besides reinstalling drivers and the Razer Synapse 3.0? Were there any changes applied to your system like Windows update? Let's isolate the problem by clicking this link.

...when I try to use the THX spatial audio outputs theres no sound.

I'm having the same issue with Kraken Ultimate. THX Spatial - Synapse worked for only one day and after thorough troubleshooting, the only way I can get regular stereo sound is by choosing Razer Kraken Ultimate when clicking the speaker icon.

Things I tried so far:

  • reinstall Synapse 3.0
  • repair Synapse installation
  • restart the computer
  • plug the headphones into different USB 3.1 and 2.0 ports
  • uninstall all Razer software and delete any Razer folders in C:\\Users\\USER\\AppData
  • change sound configuration settings from Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage audio devices

No matter what default audio combination I tried or audio settings there is consistently no audio from any application (not even Windows sounds) when THX Spatial - Synapse is selected. There's absolutely nothing that I did from my side that would change this behavior during my first day of use. I actually really enjoyed the experience in games with THX Spatial audio enabled, so it's quite disappointing that I'm not longer able to use this feature for whatever reason. There was an update for Synapse just yesterday, however there are still no changes. Everything else works fine (microphone, Chroma effects, audio when Razer Kraken Ultimate is set as default, etc.). I'm happy to further troubleshoot if there's anything else that I have missed, but so far it's not looking very promising.

Thanks for sharing! Please try reinstalling the THX Spatial Audio driver by following the steps from this thread and see if it helps.
Thank you for sharing. I uninstalled the existing THX Spatial Audio that was listed in Device Manager and installed it again via the Add legacy hardware wizard. I also tried with checking the Delete the driver software for this device option and then repaired the Synapse installation to install the driver back. Restarted my computer, but there's still no audio with THX Spatial - Synapse selected. Volume mixer definitely shows audio being played as the levels can be seen changing as the song plays for example. No difference whatsoever with increasing volume, relaunching Synapse, changing default playback devices. Just to mention that I also did a clean software reinstall earlier as per instructions here. Only the regular stereo Razer Kraken Ultimate continues to produce any audio from the headphones at the moment.

  • Synapse 3 logs
  • Affected Razer device's serial number (it starts with "SN")

Save the compressed files via Google Drive or any online drive account, then paste the link in your PM. Let's continue from there.
