Razer Kraken V4 - Persistent Static and Cutting Out, Dongle and Wired

Hey everyone,

I'm really frustrated with my Razer Kraken V4 headset. I'm experiencing constant static and the audio cuts in and out frequently, making them almost impossible to use. This happens both when I'm using the wireless dongle and when I'm plugged in with the USB cable, but it's significantly worse with the dongle.

To make matters worse, I've also tested the headset on my laptop and I'm getting the same problem. This leads me to believe it's an issue with the headset itself, not my PC.

Here's what I've already tried:

Updated audio drivers: Made sure everything is up to date on my PC.
Different USB ports: Tried all the USB ports on my PC.
Eliminated interference: Moved away from other electronics, but no improvement.
Checked for physical damage: Everything looks fine on the headset and cables.
Razer Synapse settings: Checked and reset to default, but no luck.

It's driving me crazy! Has anyone else experienced this with their Kraken V4? Any suggestions before I contact Razer support? Is there something I'm missing?

My PC specs:

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H GAMING
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
OS: Windows 11 Pro

I mostly use the headset for gaming and I have the "Game" EQ setting selected in Razer Synapse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

New here, but I think I found a fix--at least for me. So I started to get the issue when I messed with the Synapse THX Spatial Audio setting. Cycling it did not fix the issue; however, what DID fix it for me was navigating to the actual sound device’s settings: System > Sound > then select the ‘Speakers’ (Kraken V4 Pro - Game) within the Output category. Once within the Properties, scroll down to the ‘Audio Enhancements’ and toggle the drop-down from Device ‘Default Effects’ to ‘Off.’ One I cycled this drop down, all the static, crackle and delay stopped.

Can confirm that it has something to do with the THX spatial software. As soon as you deactivate it, and go back to stereo sound, everything is fine.

Can also confirm that deactivating audio enhancements in the windows settings helps with the crackling, but disabling that, disables the THX Audio completely thus putting us back to stereo sound. maybe its placebo, but especially in battlefield (my main game), stereo sounds just not right.

for me this issue started when i updatet to synapse 4, which was just about a month ago. so i guess its a problem with synapse 4.
@Razer Admin please fix this. its clearly an issue with recent updates to synapse, and its preventing us from using a feature we paid real money for.

Still an issue as of 8/24/2025, has anyone gotten a fix to the THX sound issue that was paid for? there definitely is a significant improvement in sound with THX but it does cause conflict with windows, delay in audio and crackling as if overdrive conflict.

it’s 20 January 2026, still same popping issue. The audio enhancement disabling method works but yeah, THX cannot be used this way.
