Razer Kraken X microphone mute button not working

So after like 2 days the mute button on the bottom of the left earcup no longer mutes me as it is intended to do. I have tried different microphone tests and it doesn't matter if the button is pushed up or in, the mic still keeps picking up my voice. Is this just a cheap razer product problem or did I break my headset already?

    same problem on my headset... but now after about a year later my mic doesn't work anymore... just started a rma ticket at razer.com - hopefully they will fix my problem.
