Razer Naga Trinity Polling Frequency Freezing Games | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hi all,

I have bought recently a Razer Naga Trinity, and I'm having problems because GW2 freezes if I move the mouse inside the game. Researching on Internet has discovered me that the polling frequency of the mouse is the problem, so I have reduced the default frequency from 1000Hz to 125Hz in Synapse settings, and now the game goes just fine. This also happens if I use the mouse without having installed the Synapse software. Do you know what is happening here? What is the default polling frequency of the mouse without the Synapse program installed? How can I fix this problem?

Thanks
Out of the box, your mouse should have a default polling rate of 1000Hz. Can you put up a video detailing the issue so I can try to recreate it on my end?
Hi @Razer.Caziel. I'm not very good at recording videos, but I can try to detail the steps I followed to reproduce the error. If you find the info insufficient, tell me, and I will try to record the video.

  • With no Synapse software installed, in my case, after removing it completely from the system, I install the game (Guild Wars 2).

  • I start the game, set video settings to ultra, and play the game normally (counting with the default 1000Hz polling frequency).

  • Then, I stop the game and install the latest version of the Synapse software, restart the computer, and try again the game.

  • In the "select character" screen of the game, when moving the mouse, the character animation freezes, and in-game, every time I move the characters point of view using the mouse, the game freezes. If I do the same using only the direction keys of the keyboard, the game works as expected.

  • I stop the game again and open the Synapse tool.

  • I lower the polling frequency from 1000Hz to 125Hz.

  • I try the game again and all works normally.

I will try again these same steps this weekend to double-check them, and I will add any comments if I find something different during the process.

Thanks a lot for your help.
@timbergus Thanks for this. I will try to recreate this in the lab. Do send me a PM with the serial number of your Naga Trinity so I can look into possible firmware fixes as well.
Hi @Razer.Caziel. Here is my PM number: (*Removed for security purposes)

I'll need you to send that to me in a Private Message so I can properly document everything. Locking this thread until further notice.
