Razer Phone 2 won't charge with Charging Pad Chroma

Whether it's hooked to a USB-C on my computer or plugged into the power supply that came with Razer Phone 2, the Charging Pad just glows red. I bought the pad because usb charging of my phone is all but failed and I'm desperate to extend the life of the phone (warranty expired a few weeks ago.) Is there any reason this shouldn't charge? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Did a factory reset... Still no luck. Maybe it's just defective.

    I know this might sound stupid, but anytime I ever got a red flash it’s when the phone was placed incorrectly on the pad, like it was half off or it was tilted in some way, basically not just flat in the dead centre of it, other than that it works fine for me so you probably know that but idk
