Hi there,
I recently upgraded my Razer Pro 17 (Late 2019) w/ a 2080, to the new Pro 17 w/ the 3080.
Previously when at my desk, I connected to a 32" LG Ultra Gear (32GN650-B) via the mini-DP 1.4 to the DP on the monitor. I enjoyed G-Sync Compatibility as well as 10-bit color (setting options in the nVidia Control Panel).
Having received my new Pro 17 and connecting it to the same external monitor, I quickly learned that there is no longer a mini-DP out, but instead all video-out is being handled by the HDMI 2.1 port.
Logically I would assume the same experience on the external monitor as I did on the previous Pro 17, however, I cannot get neither 10-bit color to appear as a selectable option in the nVidia Control Panel, and neither does the G-Sync setting menu appear in the control panel.
I have an HDMI certified HDMI cable, that accommodates the 48 Gbps standard for 4K/8K, so I'm assuming compatibility is not the issue.
So I guess my questions are, is G-Sync even supoprted over HDMI 2.1? I thought it was.
I am missing something, but I don't know what I don't know.
Thanks!

I found the answer to my own question. I reviewed the G-Sync compatible list at nVidia's website and found the G-Sync is only compatible through the monitors Display Port.
As a final thought, I think a future revision of this Pro 17 should include mini-DP again, I am kind of surprised it doesn't have one. There is not one G-Sync monitor out there that inputs G-Sync over HDMI. Only Display Port.
