Razer Synapse 3 Resource Hog
In troubleshooting why my file explorer in Windows 10 was taking forever; one of the things I disabled that made a huge difference was Razer Chroma SDK Service, Razer Game Manager, Razer Synapse Service, Razer Central Service.
NOW bear in mind I have ONLY used the Synapse for the ability to light up my BlackWidow Elite and Lancehead Mouse and a mouse performance reason to I can't recall. I prefer NOT to install the Synapse but it is the only way I can set up custom colors for my keyboard.
I am still experiencing some other performance problems but disabling the Razer services did give me a huge leap for performance.
Here are some of the things I have done to figure this out...
DISABLE CORTANA (this was done prior to this issue)
Optimize this folder for: "General Items"
Run Search and indexing troubleshooter
Disabled different levels of indexing (folders, drives, all); now completely off
Ran the sfc scannow option
Disabled Startup options on msconfig Startup & Services tabs
Disabled Task Manager Startup items that are HIGH IMPACT
Cleaned up Thumbnail Cache
Reset Folder options
Reset Winsock settings
Explorer Settings to launch folder windows in separate processes.
Deleted %AppData%\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Recent\\AutomaticDestinations\\f01b4d95cf55d32a.automaticDestinations-ms
Disabled Windows Search
Created REGEDIT setting Computer\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Search\\BingSearchEnabled
REGEDIT for CortanaConsent already disabled
Check for Virus or Malware
Enable System and Security / Power Options Fast Startup Option
Defrag Hard Drives (none required it)
My system is a fairly new PC with C/D drives (where windows and programs are installed) as SSD drives.
INTEL i9-9900K
64GB RAM
2 INT SSD drives / 2 Internal HDD / 1 EXT USB drive
