Razer Tartarus V2 Keybinds not changing

I recently purchased a Tartarus v2, downloaded the Razer Synapse program to customize my keybinds. When I open the software it seems to work fine, it sees the device, I can go in and edit the device settings, buy when I go to change the keybinds it does not push then to the Tartarus. I have tried resetting profiles switching back and forth but nothing will get the Tartarus to change the keys from the default ones even when synapse shows them as something else.

I've discovered that it works well when you initially bind a function to a key on my Tartarus Pro. However, it doesn't work when you try to modify that bound key. The changes aren't accepted; sometimes, they unexpectedly revert to the default key.
I recommend resetting the profile (it worked for me and maybe others using the pro version) and re-binding the keys to resolve this issue. Before doing this, export the profile, as an update might cause problems.

Ya this thing is a peace of crap this is happening to me also… it worked last night. But today does not work at all. even trying to rebind NOTHING. Going to have to return it and never try it again… this seems to be happening to a fair amount of people for years now… which tells me Razer can care less ...

Same problem here, however, I just switched over to Synapse 4 and that seems to be when my issues started so possibly the issue lies in the app and not the device?

Same issue here.
The audacity for Razer to think by default there should be a CAPS-lock button mapped on a gaming keypad is incredible, but I digress.

I cannot change the keybind of any of the buttons on my Tatarus V2.
I’m trying to change keypad ‘16’ to CTRL and it simply does not work.
I’ve reinstalled Synapse, etc.

Instead, what Synapse does is apply a virtual ‘ghost press’ of the buttons I’m trying to map to the keypad.
Meaning, any button I map to it, is then somehow being virtually pressed constantly. Nothing I map to my device works at all, and Synapse is to blame.

I cannot game until this is fixed. Perform a DOGE style audit, fire your developers, and start handling business professionally Razer.

I have the same exact problem. Just bought the Tartarus V2 yesterday, and none of the key mapping works at all. I’m trying to set key 15 to the space bar, yet it continues to type the default “F” instead. The gamepad simply doesn’t work because of some bug in the software I assume.

Ok after some troubleshooting on my own, here’s what I did to fix the problem. Initially I installed Razer Synapse 4, and could obviously not get any of the keybindings to save in keymapping. I uninstalled the Synapse 4 and went to https://www.razer.com/synapse-3-legacy to download the older Synapse 3. I tried doing the keybinding and it worked. So essentially I’m going to say that they are false advertising when they state that Synapse 4 is backwards compatible with Synapse 3 devices, at least in the case of the Tartarus V2 and Tartarus Pro. Keymapping simply does not work on this device under Synapse 4. Razer really needs to address this issue sooner rather than later.

I have owned this peripheral for a year now, contacted Support and followed their instructions to uninstall Synapse 3 and install 4. Reading this thread, i see its not me or the Tartarus V2 but the software program. Razer, you need to fix this as it looks like you haven't in at least a year.

Update. Synapse 4 kind of works. Let me explain. I installed Synapse 4 after 3 failed to be useful. I made a new profile and it worked for about 4 mins. then stopped. But I could still changed the Lighting Effects. Each time I changed the lighting effect the Tartarus pro would start using the custom profile i made. Test key was 03 that i changed to I. So far this has allowed me to play for about 30 minutes before it stopped working. I changed the lighting effect again and it started working once more. 03 would change to I. I know 30 minutes isn’t long and Razer still need to fix this but maybe it will give them an idea where to start looking for the problem.
