Razer Viper Scroll Issue + Loose Buttons

Hello. I have been using my Razer Viper (RZ01-0255) for around a year and a half now. Recently I started getting issues related to the scroll wheel. Scrolling down sometimes scrolls up and vice versa. Other times it scrolls too far or it isn’t registered at all. I updated Windows, updated the firmware, the mouse is connected directly to the PC and closing Synapse or reinstalling the drivers doesn’t resolve the problem.

 

Another issue is the build quality. Over time the buttons got loose and started rattling.

Can you PM me a short video using Google Drive so I can have a closer look at the issue? Include the serial number of your mouse and a copy of your receipt so I can check our options as well. Thanks!

I have the Same Exact Issue with my Razer viper 8kz and my Viper Mini Where i have to press the scroll wheel Button like very hard then it will register and this issue is with both on them but i also have this scrolling up will scroll down with razer viper 8khz the Viper 8khz is still in warranty . I start having this issue after a year of use of viper 8khz mouse And the Reason i bought razer Viper 8khz because my viper mini had the same issue of button not registering after use of some months and i need absolutely the best mouse .But i have never thought that i will have the same issue on Viper 8khz and with another issue of scroll wheel . i have the video of both them .how can i claim my warranty on viper 8khz .

Hey everyone, I've been using the Razer Viper 8KHz mouse for about six months now, and I've run into some issues with the scroll wheel. It's skipping around and lacks consistency, which is a real pain. On top of that, I have to really press down hard for it to register a click.

I was initially stoked to get this mouse, but now it's a total disappointment. If I can't find a fix within the next week, I think it might be time to switch to a new mouse - and it probably won't be from Razer. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’m also having issues with my Viper Mini scroll wheel button. It misses around 60% of the clicks. Blowing air into the scroll wheel area makes it work well but after a few scrolls and clicks the problem returns. It is very disappointing that this sort of issue happens to a product of a brand such as Razer, which is around for so long. It is even more frustrating because I love the shape and size of the mouse, the only issue being the apparent poor quality of the scroll wheel button which shows the described behavior with just a few months of use.

I bought the Viper Quartz, wired, back in June (6  months ago). And I’m super bummed that when I booted up this morning the scroll wheel is suddenly not working. The click still registers but no scroll. I take really good care of my equipment, its very clean. I tried everything Reddit has suggested and no luck :/ 

I will not be buying another Razer Mouse.
