Razor blade 15 - 2018 - upgrading ssd drive issue
I have a razor blade 15 2018 model and am trying to upgrade my ssd to a new samsung 970 evo plus ssd (2TB). I backed up my drive to an external drive and created a recovery usb. I swapped out the old ssd for the new samsung drive but my bios does not recognize the new ssd drive. It does recognize the recovery usb. I've checked that I installed it properly but it will not find it in bios. When I let the recovery drive run, it also does not recognize the drive. What should I try next? Thanks!

Nat1110Hey there! Thanks for posting your laptop's concern here. That is odd. Have you tried connecting the original SSD and check if BIOS detects it? If the issue persists, please check SSD's connection and as the data cable be loose or damaged. It is feasible, please test the new SSD to a different laptop and see if the issue persists.

Razer.SpeedCr0ssYes, I did put the original ssd back and of course is running fine. I only have this one laptop so I won't be able to do the new ssd test. I called the Razer support and they said it might be the new SSD problem. Anyway, I returned that SSD and get another new one. see if the issue still happen. Also, can Razer blade 15 2018 work with the ram 3200Mhz? or just 2666Mhz?

Nat1110Please stick with 2666Mhz RAM kits to avoid issues. There were some reports from users that we're able to make 3200Mhz work. But there were still some instability problems, so I can't recommend going that route.
Also, can Razer blade 15 2018 work with the ram 3200Mhz? or just 2666Mhz?
