I currently own a razer blade stealth laptop with a 60Hz. If I buy the Razer Raptor 165Hz monitor will it downgrade the screen to 60Hz or will the monitor render at 165Hz?

Each display will work with its own refresh rate, so if you’ll set Raptor to 165Hz, then it’ll work with 165Hz (and the laptop screen will be at 60Hz).
Thank you for your answer but if my laptop has a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS will that affect the quality of my monitor? Is the frame rate of the source important or only 165hz of my monitor?
