I have a 2025 Razer Blade 16 with an RTX 5080. Everything is updated in Windows, in Razer, in Nvidia, and in AMD.
I plugged an external monitor into my laptop with an HDMI. It worked initially, but then I turned on HDR, and the screen went black. The laptop was still on, but as far as I could tell, it’s frozen. Screen remains dark if I unplug the HDMI. I have to manually reset.
I’ve tried restarting while leaving the monitor plugged in. It initially loads with the Windows login screen appearing on the monitor. As soon as a login, however, the screen goes dark again.
USB C works fine. In fact, I plugged in a USB C monitor and then an HDMI monitor, and the HDMI worked. I then tried turning HDR on again, and the screens went dark again.
I’ve tried turning off HDR when connecting. I’ve tried resetting display profiles. I’ve tried multiple cables and multiple monitors.
Open to thoughts and suggestions.
