Just tried to add a second NVMe to the Razer Blade Advanced 15 2022 model using the secondary slot allocated. There was no rubber washer on the metal strip when I opened up the unit which I thought was strange. The stick dropped in but wasn’t fully securely mounted due to the missing washer but it felt like it was in ‘enough’ so I have tried to roll with it.
Turned on system, went to windows Disk Management and it was not visible as an unallocated partition (which is what I would typically expect).
Went to Device Manager and it is not visible under Disk Drives but it there is a second ‘Standard NVM Express Controller’ visible in Storage controllers which has a little exclamation warning icon.
Click on this and the following occurs
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
An I/O adapter hardware error has occurred.
Go to BIOS
I can see the drive and it appears all recognized and fine in BIOS.
Is there a reason I can see it in BIOS and it all looks normal but I cannot see it in Windows at all?
The Drive is Silicon Power 2TB UD90 NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 SSD. Razer site stated that the slot was capable of maximum 2TB Gen 4 single sided so I can’t understand what the issue is.
Is there something I am missing in BIOS?
Hope someone can help. I’ve seen a lot of similar threads but nothing quite explaining the same issue that I have so felt it reasonable to start a new one.
