Selecting individual keys

I have a Razer Ornata V3 X keyboard. I want to change the individual key colors, but I cannot select individual keys. When I try to select a key using the ctrl + (key) it only selects the entire board. I’ve tried different layers, reinstalling, etc. but nothing seems to work. One of the selling points of this keyboard is this function, and I can’t seem to make it work.
