I saw this thread for v3 pro: https://insider.razer.com/razer-support-45/synapse-update-20230330-scrolling-mode-tactile-smart-reel-stopped-working-basilisk-v3-pro-45396

I did not have this issue the same time and version as the thread above, maybe because I do not have the pro. I started having issue where I have tactile selected and is stuck on free spin today with the update for 20230519. Hoping this gets fixed quick. I have tried uninstalling/reinstall, restart/shutdown pc, create new profiles, and cleaning mouse with no luck. Was not an issue earlier this morning, but as soon as I updated it became an issue. Please Razer fix this asap like you did before with the v3 pro!

Got sick of this and can’t wait. I manually moved the gear box inside the mouse to fix this. Moving the gear box all the way sets the bar up and leaves it at tactile and I can live with it always being tactile. I followed what Diligent Food 5506 stated on his post: https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/u6940d/razer_basilisk_v3_stuck_in_free_spin_despite/

This video was also helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPf_7R-c37w

@ 00:43 to take out feet and screws (pro model so a bit different than my wired)

@ 8:01 to see the bar (right side of mouse, slider and gear box on left)

(slider all the way to razer symbol/bottom mouse will make it tactile)

5 Screws. 1 screw each under 3 top feet and side foot (leave bottom alone). Can take sticker off or search with toothpick and mark where its loose for 2 bottom screws (use sharp knife to cut circle). Take apart and move the gear box if you always want tactile or free spin.

Thinking about it now, can probably poke a needle/toothpick down on the left side of scroll wheel and move the slider all the way towards razer symbol/bottom mouse and that will prevent you from even having to take apart. Hopefully this helps you as much as it did for me, couldn’t freaking take this crap.

@00:43 helpful for feet and screws even though different model

@08:01 helpful to know parts. Bar on right side of scroll wheel that makes it tactile. Left side is slider and gear box that swaps the free spin and tactile.

I took mouse apart and followed the above and got the slider/gear box moved all the way down to have always tactile. Thinking on it now can probably poke a needle/toothpick down the left side of scroll wheel and gently push the slider down to make it tactile. Hopefully this helps you out, it drove me crazy for 1 whole day and couldn’t take it!

Hey, I know i’m a year late but I was in the same circumstance, managed to fix it with just a toothpick without dissasembly by moving the gears in the gearbox with said toothpick.

Using a toothpick, put it down the bottom left corner facing down and forward at a 45 degree angle and you should find the gearbox, carefully click it downward a few times (you should hear it click) and it should fix it!!

Hope this helps anyone also stuck and hitting their head against a wall like I was :)

Yep, basically like the people before me have said it, you need to push the LEFT side of the mouse. Not the visible bar that is on the right side of the scroll wheel like I tried, because that one moves freely if it’s stuck on free spin.

If you need more help go watch the video SubySlider17 sent, https://youtu.be/aPf_7R-c37w?t=540

At exactly this frame, you can see the bar on the right and how it extends to the left. If your mouse is on free spin you will be able to push it and hear a click. Then your mouse will be stuck on tactile mode, probably forever.

Goddamn MVP, this solved my issues. Used a needle, took a bit of searching to find the gears (the youtube video of a teardown is helpful) but once I found it just 1 click and it was fixed.
