Synapse update 20230330 - Scrolling Mode: Tactile + SMART-REEL stopped working (Basilisk v3 Pro)

Recently updated to this version of Synapse on my machine.  Before this, my Razer Basilisk v3 Pro was working fine, now it will not enable the SMART-REEL even though the radio button is turned on.

 

I’ve swapped the profile, deleted it and recreated it, swapped to FREE-SPIN and back to TACTILE with SMART-REEL off, and then turned it on, and it still doesn’t work.

 

It is connected via bluetooth, and it never had a problem before.

I tried all the same things. Hopefully they see this and release a fix ASAP. This feature is the primary reason I purchased this mouse over G series. Annoying that they broke it with a patch.

I am also having this problem to. Login into my laptop today to scroll and the mouse wheel didn't switch over to tactile to free spin it just stuck on the tactile setting unless I manually change it. Hopefully they fix this in the update.

Just updated this evening to Synapse verison 20230330 and right after smart reel has stopped working even though it is of course enabled.

Gonna follow up just to say that it started working again. So could be more of an intermittent issue with the update.

I am also having this issue, except that Smart Reel is working exclusively in 2.4GHz Mode. Even when I have it in Wired mode, it stops working.


Same issue here. Switching profile, turning off and on tactile mode and then off and on smart reel makes it work until i unplug it or turn off my pc.

Same issue here. Mine’s wired 24/7.


However, after disconnecting the usb-c and plugging it back in, it started working again.

 

Edit: Never mind, it defaults back after a few seconds… Whether it’s wired or not.

Smart spin is officially not working as intended anymore.


Same, mine stopped working as of a few days ago. Super annoying, the only reason I got this mouse of a Logitech one was for the smart reel.

well, my basilisk v3pro was working just fine. updated it., and now the smart reel is not working  …..

I’m having this issue too. Everything was fine before I hit the update button on synapse.

Last time, I got the same issue with Kraken v3 pro hypersense, which made it difficult to use THX speaker and it took 1 year for razer to fix it. IDK why I spent a lot of money to buy Pro product in order to use it normally after 1 year, when all the hype is gone :)

Nice to know You’re on it. The “smart-reel” really is the one thing that makes me the owner of this mouse and being without it is terrible. In a sense, this is clever: we find out how much we use and need the feature when it’s not there. Hope it won’t be long.

If not… is it possible to roll back to previous driver?

Hi. 

Would like to add, I have bought a Basilisk V3 Pro yesterday and the Smart Reel did not work from the beginning. 

After a system restart it suddenly worked, but after a further restart later it did not again. 

Again later I had to leave the mouse alone for a few minutes, so it turned itself off. After moving it, it turned on again and Smart Reel worked again. 

This is confusing me. Is it really a software only problem or is it a hardware failure with mine? I can still return it to Amazon, but would have to know that.

I have the same problem! Bought mouse today, put my G502 Lighting in the shelve and having this right away! PLEASE FIX.

OK guys, I can recreate the problem and fix it, what I do is turn OFF the mouse and turn it ON again, reel works, BUT if I go to SYNAPSE software or get it focused on, it STOPS work again, and I need to restart mouse again to get it work, hope this helps. Mode is wireless 2.4.
