Synapse 3, Tartarus Pro, macros won't turn off

I'm trying to set up some simple key-hold macros and I can't get them to turn off. For example, I've got an auto-move macro, which is set to press down W, no delays, and no release W event. I set this to "Toggle continuous playback on/off using assigned key". When I press the macro key, it starts the automove macro, holds down W as it should, and I get my auto movement. When I press the macro key again to stop the macro, it just continues to play and the only way I can get it to stop playing is by pressing the W key. Is this a bug, or am I setting it up wrong? I previously used a Belkin Nostromo n52, and I've always done similar macros for things like aim-toggle and crouch-toggle in games that don't already have keys for these things. This is how I would set it up in that software and I don't know of any other method to do it. Other types of macros are working fine, such as single use macros that just do a series of keys with delays in them, it's only the macros meant to hold down a key on press and release the key when pressed again that I'm having trouble with.
