Tartarus pro, help needed!

I've had this key pad for a little over a month now and although I'm absolutely loving it I cant seem to map out any new key maps. Up till his point I've only had two set so I don't think its a matter of overuse, but when I try to use the key recording function in Razer Synapse it doesn't register my normal key strokes. What do I do?
