Tartarus Pro is now a paperweight | Razer Insider

My Tartarus Pro was working fine until a few days ago, then it started having trouble being recognized by Synapse, and Synapse wouldn’t open, so I updated it, then Synapse wouldn’t open even when I ran as administrator and so I switched to the new Synapse Beta and that started fine and recognized everything but the Tartarus Pro. I’ve tried multiple USB ports on my PC, restarting, and removing and reinstalling. The Tartarus Pro is using default settings, won’t be recognized and can’t be remapped, making it essentially useless. Products shouldn’t break less than 3 years after you buy them, and it was working fine before the update. Predetermined obsolescence is predatory. If I don’t get it working by the end of the week, that will be the end of my dedication to Razer products. I’ve been a loyal fan from the first Naga I bought, and it would be a shame to end this way...

I should note, it was bought in summer of ‘22. It’s not old enough that there should be these kinds of issues, and having it run exclusively through the Synapse app instead of onboard memory means there’s no way to use it without an internet connection and constant updates anyway.

I have reinstalled the old Synapse over the new one and that seems to have gotten it working… for now.

Back to not working… this is immensely frustrating.

The new synapse beta does not support the pro version only the V2.  I had to go back to the older version of synapse to make this work.  I am trying to reach support to see if they are adding this otherwise I am going to be upset with them as well as I just upgraded from the V2 to the Pro.

I’ve gotten in contact with support, and they are working on compatibility for the PRO, but it may take a little while.

In the meantime, I am using the old Synapse to keep it running.

For all our sakes, I wish you the best of luck in them adding the pro into synapse beta. I really like the interface, but I obviously need to be able to use my tartarus since it’s my daily driver for gaming

I’m not happen it automatically upgraded to the next version and does did not even support the Tartarus Pro which I’m using and in the process of upgrading crashed my system and it would not even boot!

Fixed my system and booting now and reverted to the old synapse version.

Software should check current device support before upgrading.

Hello everyone ! Since the last update: certain keys no longer respond. What to do ?

Mine’s not worked for months now. If I have Synapse running it doesn’t do anything apart from the mouse wheel.

Turn Synapse off and it works fine with the default button assignments. THAT’S MENTAL. More functionality WITHOUT Synapse than with. Seems odd.

I am having the same issues.   If synapse is not running the default buttons work fine but when I launch synapse nothing works.   I can’t even get synapse 3 to see the device and the new synapse beta sees the device but exhibits the behavior mentioned above.

Yup, Synapse 3 is totally bugged. Doesn’t see my tartarus. It can’t be opened many times. I have reinstalled so many times, still not working as it should. It’s also very slow those times I manage to open it.

I installed Synapse Beta, but the turbo don’t work on the one.
