As of 11/18/24, THX Spatial Audio doesn’t work on my Kraken Ultimate. I have Synapse 4 installed and when switching between THX Stereo/Spatial Audio there is no difference. The enhancements, such as bass boost, volume normalization, EQ, etc. don’t work either. I made sure to:
- Set Kraken Ultimate as default device
- Set “Audio Enhancements” in Windows settings be “Default Device Effects”
- However, the default device effects shows up as “Microsoft Audio Home Theater Effects” and not something along the lines of “THX Spatial Audio” iirc
- Reinstalled and repaired Synapse 4 countless times
- Un-plugged/replugged headset
Something weird that I do notice is that the Enhancements property in the Speaker Properties window does not state anything related to THX or any “equalizer” enhancement and instead the provider is Microsoft.
In other threads I saw that people had a THX Spatial Audio USB Driver installer on their “Installed Apps” page.
Some people suggested to uninstall the driver. I however, don’t have this driver at all. Could this be the issue? If so, where do I install this? It didn’t come with my Synapse 4 installation.
