Trackpad not working and will not show pointer

My trackpad on my stealth 17 just completely stopped functioning the other day. No pointer is visible and it will not click on anything. I've tried everything i could online, including removing and re-downloading synapse and windows fresh start. The only thing that I can think of is when I go to "Trackpad settings" and "open device settings" on synapse, I get the message "Unable to connect to Synaptics Pointing Device Driver". Help? Edit: I reinstlled synapse again, I no longer get the driver error message, but it still doesnt work.
