Unstable Wireless

My Viper V2 just started randomly disconnecting from wireless and then stopped working entirely when trying to use it wirelessly. There was no signs of an issue prior. It works fine wired as far as I can tell. I’ve tried different ports with and without the wireless extender and nothing has fixed it. I have also tried repairing Synapse 4 and checking for firmware updates. I have owned this mouse for 2+ years so I believe I am past warranty. Is my only option to purchase a replacement? What can I/should I do?

Since your mouse works perfectly while wired, the mouse itself is fine! The issue is almost certainly a dead or desynced USB dongle.

Before buying a whole new mouse, try this:

  1. Force a Reconnect: Synapse 4 can be buggy with hardware desyncs. Download the standalone Razer Mouse Pairing Utility from Razer's website to force the mouse and dongle to re-pair.

  2. Test on Another PC: Plug the dongle into a different computer. If it doesn't register there either, the dongle is officially dead.

  3. The Cheap Fix: New receiver! You can buy a standard replacement from Razer's parts store for ~$15–$20. Alternatively, grab the Razer HyperPolling for an upgrade.

I tried the mouse pairing utility and it wasn’t detected. I also tried plugging in the dongle to my laptop and unless I’m supposed to manually pair it (I don’t remember needing to), it didn’t work.

The pairing is only if the dongle was desynced.
Just to confirm your suspicion: you shouldn't need to manually pair anything just for the computer to detect the USB. If you plugged it into the laptop and Windows didn't even make the "USB connected" chime or recognize that a device was inserted. That means that your dongle is dead.
