Use synapse 2 instead of synapse 3

I have a v1 Blackwidow chroma and it has support for synapse 3. However when i use synapse 3 my chroma lag, when using synapse 2 my chroma effect does not lag. My keyboard automatically transfer to synapse 3 when im alr using synapse 2. Is there anyway to prevent this?
