Using synapse ruined my audio for some games

ive had my Kraken TE for a while and just today i tried fiddling with synapse, mostly mic settings, and i enabled surround sound for some games. after opening one, the audio quality had tanked, and there was a noticeable dull hissing in the background. after disabling surround sound on everything, some games STILL have worse audio what have i done????
