Everyone who has my problem has been whisked away into the support team’s white van for a solution so I was forced to make an account and post it myself.
Preface: I have an old out of warranty Viper Ultimate I was given as a hand-me down. I do not have money to throw at the problem in the form of replacements or upgrades or an entirely new computer.
My viper ultimate works perfectly fine when attached via cable, but the receiver isn’t working. When plugged in and the mouse is turned on, the mouse glows but does not connect to the computer
The pairing utility does not even attempt pairing before displaying the “Pairing Failed. Would you like to retry?” screen. This company apparently believes in neither troubleshooting nor clear error messages so I could not try further
The firmware updater progresses to 40% on the update before reverting to the “an update is required” screen. It does not list my device version and lists the latest version as different numbers every time I open it. I have never gotten to the point of it attempting to update the mouse itself, only the first step of updating the receiver
I have reinstalled the drivers to my computer. I have never installed Razer synapse and never will, I would sooner renounce external mice and use my laptop’s trackpad for eternity. I intend on deleting all of this software from my computer as soon as my mouse is functional again, because needing software to run a computer mouse is a sign of mental illness.
