Why order was not picked up by FedEx

Placed an order on May 5 and paid $10 extra to have it delivered with FedEx express (estimated delivery at time of purchase was May 10-12). Received notification that my order was shipped on May 8 @ 2pm and received my FedEx tracking number. The estimated delivery date upon receiving this notification was May 11. Unfortunately, the status of my order remained at label created until just recently!! Why did it take 2 full days for my express order to be picked up? Now FedEx is reporting an estimated delivery of May 15th! 

Order placed on May 5th with express delivery shouldn't take 10 days to arrive and that’s assuming there’s no delays on its way here!

Very disappointed. Feels like the $10 is a scam.
