Sometimes it stops working and then reappears. I never paid much attention to it. because what mattered was the configs of the buttons.

I mean when you have different games and 5 dpi settings its really usefull to see when it changes in game..

that's right but I use 1600-1800 regardless of the fps game, rpg, etc. I'm used to a fixed DPI that helps me with the accuracy of the arm muscle motor system. and use the color of the led to indicate the profile.

it still doesnt mean the indication shouldn't work in games in purpose 😃

the indication is optional and if it is preferred it is the problem. Do you simply want it to show in the game? this is not essential.

in your synapse
1: create different profiles
2: change DPI, COLORS ETC for each profile at will.
3: link each profile to a different game on your synapse.
4: synapse will automatically manage profiles while changing the game.

Same issue, Razer Naga Trinity, and Andre’s work-arounds are not acceptable solutions when this did work fine half a year ago. I have other razer products that have popup notifications, those still work fine (black widow V4 command dial still shows when you change it)

  1. Launch game, whatever game you want. Do NOT shut down the game.
  2. Switch over to desktop.
  3. Log out of Synapse 3.
  4. Ctrl-alt-del. Click on Services. (this is in Windows 11)
  5. Stop Razer Synapse service.
  6. Restart Synapse service.
  7. Log back in Synapse.
  8. Get back in game.
  9. Should work.

Razer Lancehead TE, Windows 11 Pro, RTX 4080, 13700K, Z790-E Strix Gaming Wifi, 64GB 6000Mhz DDR5, AE7 soundcard, SN850X NVMe drive, Game mode ON, Memory Integrity ON. No other background software running: just Windows Defender and Synapse 3. I do NOT have Armoury or Ai Suite 3 installed.

System is running Windows 11 Pro with all latest drivers, BIOS and patches.

I noticed games kill the DPI Notification. Then I need to do the steps above. I’m not sure if Synapse 2 did this.

I do not know how the Razer layer (DPI notification) works as a subroutine in the OS with the graphics driver with the game. It’s obvious games block it and kill it. I’m not sure what API Synapse uses. .Net? Web API?

Windowless, borderless, not windowed, it doesn’t matter. Serious Sam 3 kills DPI Notification. Borderlands 3 kills it. Games in general. it’s a software issue.

It’s now 2025 and they still haven’t fixed it.

I put in a ticket for this last year. The sheer amount of incompetence and disorganized help support staff was beyond baffling. I was asked the same questions 4 times over that I had all responded to one after another. I was asked to login and told to use their credentials. Why? I asked them. Why do I need to login on my PC with your credentials? Don’t you have Win10/11 PCs at Razer to test this? Why is it you have university and college and educated staff with PCs as powerful as mine, with every Windows possible and you can’t figure out? I asked them how a company as big as Razer can’t program a simple function as DPI indicator on screen while gaming? Why have Synapse 3 if the ONE thing I need doesn’t work? How much time, budget and staff does it take?

I told them MSI, Microsoft, and many other can create an app and it will work as an overlay over many games. That on top that it displays more information.

How can Razer not make a DPI indicator that doesn’t work in game? Why do I have to “restart” the service so it works? Proof that it can work in game.

It shuts off and then restarts when you’re out of the game. How does that give me “advantage” or an “edge” according to their false advertising on their website?

It’s beyond comical that the ONE thing you want in a game, the DPI indicator, does NOT work unless you go in “Services” and “restart the Razer Synapse” service? This tells me they coded the DPI indicator, to stop and then only restart once you’re out of the game.

When I get into any car, truck, bus, train in Canada, the speedometer and RPM indicator don’t stop working if I”m on a road. They don’t reappear once I park the car.

Then I confronted Razer on their false advertising that Synapse 3 “gives me an edge”. How? WTF does that even mean legally or grammatically? I told them them the ONE thing that should work, to give me “an edge”, doesn’t work. After years (ever since Synapse 3 came out), Razer, all their programming team, management included, can’t program a simple function to work in any game. What? Having no access to an essential function of the mouse is giving me an edge? How? That’s like no speedometer in a car. How absolutely stupid and moronic is that?

The help support team’s communication was as long as 10 pages. No solution. I think they stretch out the service ticket to give themselves some work like some call-centres (not all).

In the end, after a week’s going back and forth, I was finally given the generic corporate response to basically say “it doesn’t work”.

It’s  baffling a company the size of Razer with all it’s hired staff can’t get a simple DPI indicator to work while you’re in a game.

If any other company is looking at this, Corsair, Logitech, Asus, any mouse manufacturer, if you’re DPI indicator doesn’t work in any game, I can not believe that is giving me an “edge” or “advantage”.

For me too..I also sent a feedback but when i saw this forum… i think it was pointless to send if they still didnt fix it.
I just got my basilisk v3 last month.1st week worked fine, then started to not change profile between windows/normal and wot (world of tanks).
But it almost always works with genshin/the 3rd profile. So its a coding issue. I have to either close the razer app or go into it and change the profiles like 3-5times to start working. I tried it with different games and programs linking. The razor app is failing to recognize when i switch to them.
The 3 modes have completely different layout so using 1 for all or only dpi changing is a no go for me.

Windows/normal/default (whatever) has always the same dpi +back and forth and refresh for side buttons.
Wot profile has 3dpi + keyboardkeys set as side button(c,v or whatever)
Genshin has 2dpi (2k and 9k) +inventory, characther menu etc all over the mouse set up.

So when i change from windows to Wot my side button whats set up as 1st person shooting/sniper mod will instead make my camera view go round and round to the right (ctrl+right for forward in windows/chrome) and my other side button make rounds to the left…
I have diff light for all 3 but when i hold the mouse i barely see it and i dont look at it everytime i change between apps.
It has no visual overlay or anything to show the profile change or dpi change in games.

My much cheaper aoc gk500 keyboard dont have an overlay (got it at the same time), BUT it never fails to change the settings. Its cheaper but its working…  Whenever i open a movie in the player it always go to low light orange (thats what i choose) or goes off if i set it up to it.
(sorry if my Eng dont make sense somewhere)
