Have you deleted all of the file Razer leaves behind after an uninstall?
Synapse includes an uninstaller APP

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.razer.rzupdater.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.razerzone.rzdeviceengine.plist

but I always check with CleanMyMac to see if all files have been deleted

(I have the icon in the Dock because SYNAPSE for Mac gives a lot of errors...)

Hi everyone,

Just want to jump in and say that Synapse 2 for Mac will remain fully supported with the final release versions of MacOS for the foreseeable future. However, please note that we do not test with or support any beta / pre-release versions of any OS (may it be Mac or Windows).

Cheers!

Thanks for jumping in. This is not only a beta issue, I have been having the same problems since 10.13.2, and still doesn't work with 10.13.3!

You say you haven't tested it with beta, so that suggests you test it with 10.13.3.... Could you get it work? Where is the support for it?
The latest version of macOS High Sierra is 10.13.4 beta 5 (17E182a)
Beta versions are for developers.

The development of SYNAPSE v.1.82 has remained in the stable version of macOS High Sierra 10.13.2

Cannot get Synapse 2 to work on 10 13 3 as it crashes my iMac. The crash reports have been sent to Razer and hopefully a fix will happen soon. Cheers.

Hi Everyone,

I just got confirmation from the engineering team that we don't have this issue in our test environment on both 10.13.3 and 10.13.4.

Would appreciate if you could share your crash logs with me via PM for further investigation.

The crash logs are stored in the folder ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/. You can reach this folder by following these steps:

  • In Finder, click on the Go menu and choose Go to Folder... After selecting this command, a text field should appear in Finder.
  • Paste the path ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ into the text field.
  • Click the Go button.

Please capture crash logs with filenames containing:
· Razer Synapse
· RzDeviceEngine
· RzUpdater

In addition, your System Information might also be helpful in the investigation :

I have sent 10 bug reports to Razer's support department in the last 2 months...
They don't answer me anymore....

I haven't been able to use SYNAPSE in 50 days...

pathetic!
My Synapse always crashes, soaks up RAM and CPU, and slows down my rMBP.

Spoke with Razer Support on Twitter, they said to do the Live Chat after probably the third reinstall. Live chat basically blamed it on the macOS Beta (even though I clearly stated that the issue existed before I went to the Beta) and said there wasn't anything they could do, but I would get an email from the devs. That was last week, and I'm still waiting for the imaginary email.

In the meantime, I've said screw it and uninstalled Synapse until this crap is fixed.

Change the engineering team because Synapse doesn't crash on their test machines? That would be quite rude.

Please understand that not ever single machine will see every single issue experienced across millions of users worldwide. Some issues can only be reproduced in specific environments and we can't fix something unless we know what's causing the issue.

of Synapse users on Mac? hahahaha
or they must have installed macOS the Captain....

OK, please share your razerid (the login email you use for Synapse) with me in a PM in that case so that the engineers can search for your logs specifically.
if you tell me your email, I forward ALL the emails I have with support from Razer

You might want to calm down before @RazerThe_Fiend gets annoyed with you and just ignores you. Patience is key man. (Although mine is admittedly wearing thin)

to ignore me? This gentleman @RazerThe_Fiend is not even from the technical service, and he's probably never had a Mac around.
Razer's supersupport has been ignoring me for months, because they have no solution to the disaster that is Synapse for Mac...

I repeat that I have already sent 30 mails to Razer's supersupport, sending all the files that request me every time there is a crash, errors, etc.

this crash is 5 minutes old:

That would not be necessary. The primary thing engineering team requires are the logs. They can search previously submitted logs by your RazerID (which I have shared with them).

Nah, that's fine, I understand how it would be frustrating, and I'm not ignoring anyone. Just that I check Insider only about once a day. I can't always read and reply every message instantly.
From crash logs I could send out almost every day.
I don't keep crash records anymore because Razer Support hasn't answered my emails for 1 month.
These are the ones I sent to Razer's support.

ever since, I've been in constant contact with Razer's support.
I have sent them many e-mails, 30 exactly up to today, with all the system files they requested.
It's been a month since you've been answering me....

From time to time I activate synapse, because I need to work with ease, using the buttons on my Razer devices.

The problem that most often occurs is the infinite repetition of a letter. I think it must be the last key pressed, but as iMac goes crazy, I get confused and can't remember which key combination caused the problem.

It's never the same letter, but with the letters M, L, it happens a lot.
It may be that they are letters that are used in many words in Catalan and Spanish
(I am from Barcelona - BCN, Catalonia, EU)

Do I make myself clear?

If I am typing text, I know what the letter is, but if I don't have a text with the problem, I have to press all the keys until I press the correct one. Then my iMac's craziness stops.

When Synapse is disabled at login, everything works fine, no problem.

I cannot install Razer software on my Mac.
OS Version: Mac OS X 10.13.3 (17D2104)
I install, reboot. Then no software shows in system setting.
Launch Razer app.
App asks to connect. Wow, much further then before.
This might work this time.

Just got a brand new BlackWidow X
OSX - 10.13.3
Synapse - 1.82.35

I could install Synapse - The keyboard shows up - However the profile created for Lighting Effect doesn't seem to work. I don't have crashes as such but the lightings are dead, just stuck with the default can't set to anything else.

Really look forward to get the problem solved with High Sierra 😞

I've had similar problems involving the Chroma configurator. I just uninstalled Synapse until the fix is created since it wasn't getting me anything.

I am also not able to change the lighting effects on my new Razer Ornata Chroma on Mac. When I hook up the keyboard to another computer running Windows 10, I am able to change the lighting effects just fine. But on my Macbook Pro (Retina, mid 2014, OS: 10.13.3) I cannot change the lighting effects. The app installs and opens just fine without any weird crashes or anything, but changing the lighting effects or profiles just does not effect the keyboard in any way.

Please make fixing this issue a higher priority. I also use the keyboard for work, since my macbook is mounted on a stand and I cannot reach the built-in keyboard. The default "breathing" effect is not only distracting but also not every color lights up the keys enough that I can see the keys in the dark (because I am color blind). All I want to do is change it to a static color.

Same here. I can't control the lighting effect and also, what annoys me is the accessories not turning off when the screen is off. Because the driver is just so buggy.
Funny thing guys. My lighting effect are static green now. Haven't changed anything, the lighting effect is still not functional via Synapses. But i am not sure why my color on the keyboard is static, it used to be the default breathing effect !! Strange ..
