The Razer Synapse Audio issues are not going to get fixed. They want you to buy the $20 software.

Title is all that is needed. It is way too easy to just roll back the software and completely stop the update to the new version. It’s been 4 days at the time of writing this post and they haven’t reached out to the community yet saying that they isolated the issue. A VAST MAJORITY OF THE COMMUNITY KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. A company that can’t find the cause of such a simple problem, roll back software updates, or even admit that the issue is replicable after so many user reports just shouldn’t be in business. However, Razer seemingly have deliberately planned this out. Even by installing the older versions of Synapse, you cannot install audio devices anymore, even if you disable automatic updates.

Synapse just will not allow you to get an audio device to show up unless you are on the latest version. You’ll get the basic device installed and it’ll play Stereo sound but the Spatial Audio output device is never going to show up unless you buy the $20 software.

Razer has locked a previously free feature that came with the headset behind a paywall and the only way to get the Spatial Audio back is to buy the software. What a scam! I’ve had a Blackshark V2 Pro for almost 2 years and this will be the last Razer product that I buy. Ever.

Razer. Prove me wrong by fixing Synapse and restoring the Spatial Audio device and sound quality. You won’t, because your business model is now going toward subscriptions and scams. I paid for my headset and guess what it says is included on the BOX? 7.1 Surround Sound. At no extra cost.

The representatives also have no idea what you are talking about if you tell them that 7.1 Surround Sound is missing as an output device. Curious...as there’s numerous posts on this website and on the RAZER SUBREDDIT!

Razer; you best come clean and fix this and tell your community the truth. There’s no way that you just “broke” the 7.1 Surround Sound that pretty much ALL OF YOUR HEADSETS are advertised with...by accident.

Hold on Hold on …… easy now … easy

Yes update software problem,

Razer ( hopefully ) fixes it,

NOTE;  $$ 20 software does have a FREE 15 day trial

I thought this would fix / help ‘their’ sound issue. I am currently using it ( it is a second PC app running and must be set up )

No $$ 20 software does NOT HELP.    ( at this time ) I still have red Solo cups over my ears

NOTE; also I disagree that Razer “has it locked behind a paywall”  I believe it an honest mistake, patience required !

.., few fixes 24 days later and the sound still not on the same shape - thx / 7.1  sound somehow is working - bass is transferred  somehow onto low mids, soundstage is very central / low depth, thanks to Sonar I can play FPS games and use spatial controls to get some positional accuracy.
