Alternative to Naga Trinity | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hi.

Going to dump my naga trinity as I have no intention of installing Beta Synapse 3.0 especially with all the problems I read of in this forum. Quite happy with Synapse 2.0 it works and handles the rest of my peripherals, keyboard, keypad, headphones, etc on a couple of machines here at home.

I don't want to break those with driver conflicts.

It's a pity because I really like this mouse. The snaps on sides are great when switching from Work to MMO to FPS. It's size fits my hand well, nice button position and unlike the 3 previous nagas I've owned the buttons seem to be lasting much better this time.

Anyway my question is what alternatives would you suggest.

If Razer it must be Synapse 2.0 compatible although I am now happy to consider alternatives going forward as there seems no end in sight for Synapse 3 completion.
It's not beta anymore if you ask me...

I've been using Synapse 3 since the beta and I am very happy with this software.

Current version is: 3.4.1024.102510 (November 10, 2019)

I also had Synapse 2.0 and Synapse 3 installed for a long time without any problems.

In my opinion, Synapse 3.0 is better than 2.0.

I have no problems with keyboard, mouse and headset.

Just try installing Synapse 3 and if you do not like it anymore you can uninstall it at any time.

Fanboy, it's still a Beta, with lots of bugs and problems, as you can read here and on reddit, if you can.

May be, you are happy, always some people are happy with any mess. Much more are not !

That's why I wrote (if you ask me, in my opinion)...

Of course, I can understand when people are disappointed.

But you should try it before complaining.

Uninstalling a program does not take a minute.

If I want to find a negative criticism, then I find a negative for everything.

Other programs do not have access to the Razer products.
Hi Talos,

Thanks for your comment but Razer clearly do state that Synapse 3 is Beta.

Since they are the ones writing these drivers/software I'd have to accept their word.

It's been beta for I think 3 years now.

While it's great that you are happy with the current state and that you find it stable, I do see numerous posts stating the exact opposite. Some of these point to it breaking working synapse 2 setups. Hence my trepidation.

TBH if I'd know that the Trinity wasn't supported by stable drivers/software there is no way I would have bought one.

Anyway this thread is not about Synapse 3.

I'm looking to replace my Trinity with something that works with what for me is the stable Synapse 2 or a stable (non-beta) alternative. A replacement mouse with plenty of buttons. So please feel free to jump in on that.

Cheers
Perhaps you can gather a Naga Hex V2, it runs on Syn2 (and also Syn3).

Mine is rotting in the drawer, I only use orbweaver, because of missing alternatives.

If the thread is not about synapse 3, Then why bring it up? We already have threads about this. Just ask lusabit. Either way, I agree with Talos. Synapse 3 works fine for most people. It works just fine for me. The reason you see a bunch of people complaining about it is because they are the few that use razer products and have small or slight issues with it. Most of these issues can be fixed with a simple call to customer service. Most people however seem unable to communicate with customer service and figure out the issue. Either way, You said that wasn't the problem. It needs to be synapse 2.0 I suggest the Razer Naga Epic. You can find them all over. Some are for higher prices and some are for lower prices. I see a lot of feedback from the community asking for a new wireless naga. Based on what I have seen about Razer, They tend to listen to their community. I.e Brand new Hammerhead TW and Viper and basilisk ultimate. You might want to wait a bit longer to see if they release one of these. Not saying they will, It is just likely. And it will probably run on synapse 3. But if you need a suggestion, I suggest the Razer Naga Epic.

I posted in Synapse not Synapse 3 section

The post relates to alternative mouse which works under Synapse 2 not the Beta software.

Your comments and tone of response are argumentative.

After 10+ years of nothing but Razer, peripherals and even some laptops,

I've now decided to move to an alternative manufacturer so won't be back here to be bullied or insulted.

No one is bullying you. If you think that was bullying, then you are never going to make it in the 21st century where most people on the internet have something to say.
