Hey everyone,

For those experiencing issues with Razer Synapse, do you have Avast antivirus installed?

If so, check out the message from Avast below.

Avast and Razer not working properly together on WIN 10 64 bit

Just a small tip for home users just use built in (Windows 10 & 11) - Windows Defender.

It’s really good AV, great detection, small amount of false alarms, fairly light on resources.

The problem still exists. I was having to constantly reinstall or disconnect/reconnect my keyboard in order to get Synapse to recognize it. I uninstalled Avast premium Security and my Razer software works like it used to.

Use anyone else’s AV is my recommendation. Avast seems to be the only one that thinks Razer is a virus. A Cult to be sure, but not a virus.

Use built-in Windows defender.

It has better protection than avast, and less false alarms.

I encountered this on corporate devices; some antiviruses react very aggressively to background processes that actively use com ports. Synapse 3 creates a lot of similar processes, which creates this problem.
