[Suggestion] Possible change to Hypershift functionality on keyboards | Razer Insider

Recently got my hands on the Blackwidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed and to start off I’ll say I’m very pleased with the keyboard. Feels great and found out that I can actually apply macros to it, which is extra functionality I wasn’t expecting to have when I bought it.

I do have one complaint about the Hypershift function on the keyboard and I’m not sure if it applies to other keyboards as well and it’s that some of the keys (ex: Y,UO,P,x,],G,H,’, Function Row, etc) cannot be remapped. I can understand putting a limitation on it prevents users from losing the functions that exist only because of the Hypershift like the media keys, brightness, and a few others, but I feel like it can cause some issues such as if I apply a macro in Hypershift to the Backspace or Enter key and I miss that key I could put my PC to sleep instead.

What Id like to suggest as a potential solution is a locked out profile instead of locked out keys. Its already a thing that you have to have at least one profile on the device at all times anyway, why not make it a “Default” profile and lock out the Hypershift/fn functions there and allow remapping of said functions on other profiles? That way you don’t lose functionality on the keyboard because of a locked Default profile and you can still adjust all the keys in other secondary profiles. What do y’all think?
