Hi Razer team,
I found a power-management issue with Synapse 4 and the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad on my Blade 16 2023 (RZ09-0483, RTX 4090).
When the Cooling Pad is active, RzDLLService_v1.0.29.0.exe continuously loads NVIDIA nvml.dll.
tasklist /m nvml.dll consistently identifies RzDLLService as the NVML client.
In Optimus mode, even with:
- NVIDIA display inactive
- GPU utilization at 0%
- no application using the dGPU
Synapse continuously reports the RTX 4090 active, and spot checks show:
P0
1815 MHz core
9001 MHz memory
~28–34 W
My Cooling Pad fan curve is CPU-based, so continuous NVIDIA GPU telemetry should not be required.
I tested multiple NVIDIA drivers and also updated Intel IPF, DTT and MEI, with no change.
Could Synapse stop continuously polling NVML/NVAPI when a CPU-based Cooling Pad curve is selected, so the dGPU can return to its normal low-power state?
I can provide additional logs and a CPU-only HID proof-of-concept that controls the Cooling Pad without NVML/NVAPI if useful.
