Device: Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro Full-size (104 keys) OS: Windows 11 Software: Razer Synapse 4 Stable Release (NOT Beta) Keyboard Firmware Version: 1.5.0.0 (latest official firmware)

Reproduction Steps

  1. Keep Synapse 4 running in background (I rely on Synapse software macros on side macro keys, Synapse cannot be closed).
  2. Case A: Select built-in preset "Horizontal Scrolling", rotate Command Dial.
  3. Case B: Create custom Command Dial mode, bind Clockwise = Mouse Scroll Right, Counter-clockwise = Mouse Scroll Left, rotate dial.
  4. Case C: Create custom mode, record macro Shift + Mouse Wheel Up/Down and bind to rotation.

Expected Result

All cases: Rotation sends HID horizontal scroll events for Excel / browser horizontal scrolling.

Actual Result

Case A, B and C behave identically: rotating dial only changes keyboard RGB brightness, no horizontal scroll events generated. Pressing dial to switch modes works fine. Only rotation events are hijacked.

Troubleshooting performed (None fixed the bug)

  1. Updated keyboard firmware to latest official version 1.5.0.0
  2. Hardware keyboard factory reset with FN+ESC
  3. Reboot PC and restart Synapse multiple times
  4. Uninstall Synapse4 from Windows, reboot, reinstall stable Synapse4
  5. Full cleanup using official RazerClean tool, reboot, reinstall Synapse4
  6. Reset all Command Dial modes inside Synapse and recreate custom profiles
  7. Disable Chroma Connect and Windows Dynamic Lighting to rule out lighting conflicts
  8. Plug keyboard into native motherboard USB port (no hub / docking station)

Evidence to prove hardware healthy

If I fully exit Synapse 4 and use on-board firmware preset, native Horizontal Scrolling works perfectly. The bug appears immediately once Synapse4 starts and takes over the Command Dial.

Root cause guess: Global low-level event routing bug inside Synapse4’s Command Dial handler. All rotation events are forcibly redirected to Chroma brightness control, ignoring any user-assigned commands in Command Dial settings. This is not limited to one preset, it’s a core Command Dial event dispatching failure, and persists on firmware v1.5.0.0.

Request: Fix the low-level Command Dial event routing in Synapse4, so rotation commands assigned by user are respected instead of forced to adjust lighting brightness.
