Subject: Critical Installation Failure (Exit Code: 4294967295) and Device Detection Issue - Razer Viper V3 Pro
To the Razer Support Team,
I am writing to report a persistent technical issue regarding the installation of Razer Synapse (both v3 and v4) and a device detection problem with my Razer Viper V3 Pro.
The Problem:
Despite being a developer-level user and trying multiple advanced troubleshooting steps, I am unable to install Razer Synapse 4 via the standard installer or Windows Package Manager (Winget). I consistently receive the following error:
Error: "Installer failed with exit code: 4294967295" (Equivalent to Exit Code -1).
What I Have Already Attempted:
Environment Variable Redirection: I redirected both User and System TEMP/TMP variables to C:\Temp to bypass any path or permission issues.
Clean Reinstallation: I have completely purged all Razer folders from %AppData%, %ProgramData%, and wiped Razer keys from the Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Razer).
Alternative Installation Methods: * Winget: Tried winget install --id RazerInc.RazerInstaller.Synapse4, but it fails during the "Starting package install" phase with the same exit code.
Chocolatey: I managed to force-install Synapse 3 using choco install razer-synapse-3.
Administrative Privileges: I activated the built-in Windows Administrator account and attempted the installation there, but the "Failed to write installer file" error persists.
Device Recognition: Although Synapse 3 is now installed via Chocolatey, the software recognizes the Viper V3 Pro on the dashboard but fails to open any settings or allow customization. It acts as if the device is not fully connected or is in a "demo/restricted" state.
System Environment:
OS: Windows 10/11 (fully updated).
Note: I have already tried disabling Windows Defender Real-Time Protection and running Firmware Updaters, but it did not resolve the installation logic error.
Request:
Since the standard RazerInstaller.exe consistently fails to extract/write files on my system, I request a direct link to a Standalone Offline Installer (.msi or full .exe) for Synapse 4 that does not rely on the online "stub" installer. Additionally, please advise why a recognized Viper V3 Pro would have its configuration menu locked in Synapse 3.
Looking forward to a technical solution.
Best regards,
